The Septuagint pronounces him as Moloch, both ar mentioned in the bible Moloch in Amos and Molech in many other references the book of Leviticus, 1st and 2nd kings and Jeremiah
1st reference
Leviticus 18:21 And thou shalt not let any of thy seed pass through [the fire] to Molech, neither shalt thou profane the name of thy God: I [am] the LORD.Leviticus 20:2 Again, thou shalt say to the children of Israel, Whosoever [he be] of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, that gives [any] of his seed unto Molech; he shall surely be put to death: the people of the land shall stone him with stones.Lev 20:3 And I will set my face against that man, and will cut him off from among his people; because he hath given of his seed unto Molech, to defile my sanctuary, and to profane my holy name.Lev 20:4 And if the people of the land do any ways hide their eyes from the man, when he giveth of his seed unto Molech, and kill him not:Lev 20:5 Then I will set my face against that man, and against his family, and will cut him off, and all that go a whoring after him, to commit whoredom with Molech, from among their people. There are many different things racing through my head right now in this subject, It is a grievous tone, one that I initially did not want to cover, but a voice beckons me on. There has been much anger kindled in the heart of the lord towards a growing trend. The “Sorrower” is moving again. He has taken advantage of the lack of teaching sound doctrine and the arrogance of martyrdom practices and made them into this belief that sacrificing children, killing children is a respectable way to expel ones grief. In grief, these men destroy their children, causing the mother to share in such grief that it becomes irreversible. What mother overcomes the destruction of her seed?It is a Sin, a most grievous sin to sacrifice ones children unto grief and fear. In anger it is murder in fear it is manslaughter in grief it is sacrifice, of these things god hates. Jeremiah 32:35 And they built the high places of Baal, which [are] in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through [the fire] unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.Moloch or rather the worship of Molech is an ancient belief, one with ties to ammonite pantheons. The Israelites were forbidden to practice this worship and that as you can see from previous passages that two judgments were laid out. Those who took part in the worship were to be “put to death” and those who stood by and witnessed the practice were to be “kicked out” of from amongst the people. Where did they practice this, in the valley of Topheth “in the valley of Hinnom” and more that likely was introduced during the reign of Manasseh. He was the one whom God told Israel “Jacob” to give the blessing of succession to Ephraim even though Manasseh was firstborn. The actual spelling of Molech is MELEK, and the ritual attributed to worship of him was having children “pass through the fire to Molech”. The action was to have two lines of fire with a narrow pathway in their “consecration” ceremony. Many children died and as they were screaming “loud noise would be played banging of drums and such, blowing of horns, drinking and other things in order to drown out the childrens screams as they died. They were considered to be “extraordinary” sacrifices to YWHY (Yahweh=God) thus permitted/promoted amongst the children of Israel. Ezekiel stated that God polluted the children of Israel for “allowing” the people to perform the sacrifices and Ezekiel 20:25-26 If you remember in Genesis Abraham was commanded of god to give Issac his son, whom he had already given the blessing to earlier as a human sacrifice. It is along these lines that the church finds some measure of validity of a sort to the sacrifice of ones heart ones soul and ones mind to god as a “living” sacrifice. It is an extraordinary sacrifice. It was rejected by the prophets of old as a practice of proving fealty to God.Motive behind selfless sacrificeMicah 6:1-8 Here is the cry of the lord against the practice of unrighteousness, He asks the people, to tell him where the lord has unjustly lead them and asks them what they believe they can do to resolve themselves to his mercy. It is an excellent passage because it seems that God himself is establishing the judging of those practices as being “insufficient” and unacceptable in resolving the hearts of man.Moloch went by many names, Ba’al, Apis-Bull. Golden Calf, Milcom, Chemosh and was widely worshipped in the middle east. He is depicted as a Bull with the body of a man in most instances and is considered in the greek as the minotaur. The pheonicians of carthage had a similar relationship to the practice of worhip to Molech in that the sacrifice was to the God “Saturn or Chronus” in which children were slain, this god was also called Baal Hammon. Plato’s account of the practice at carthage was such:There stands in their midst a bronze statue of Kronos, its hands extended over a bronze brazier, the flames of which engulf the child. When the flames fall upon the body, the limbs contract and the open mouth seems almost to be laughing until the contracted body slips quietly into the brazier. Thus it is that the 'grin' is known as 'sardonic laughter,' since they die laughing. *point of contention – at no point in the establishment of the holy-ghost has there been an experience of “Holy Laughter” that was expressed in the ecstatic praying or worshipin the manner of shekinah. Yet prominent ministers such as Oral Roberts, Benny Hinn, Larry Tomszak, Karl Strader and Marilyn Hickey as well as others that endorse or even promote these things. Uncontrollable weeping, barking like dogs, trances, roaring like lions, and laughter in these manners are well documented amongst the “mystery religions” but not within the churches established by the apostles nor those corrected by paul._Shekinah - indication of the manifestation of God dwelling amongst people, the visible manifestation of Gods presence.I’m not saying that certain unexpected activities don’t occur in the reception or manifestation of the holy ghost, but The “Shekinah” is an old understandable expectation attributed to the High priest messianic Judaism, and they don’t record anyone acting in such manner in the presence of God at anytime in any book or letter or writing.** Diodorus Siclulus account:There was in their city a bronze image of Cronus extending its hands, palms up and sloping toward the ground, so that each of the children when placed thereon rolled down and fell into a sort of gaping pit filled with fire.Relatives were forbidden to weepPlutarchThe whole area before the statue was filled with a loud noise of flutes and drums so that the cries of wailing should not reach the ears of the people. In Medieval texts it is this moloch who is considered as a prince of Hell, Which finds particular pleasure in making mothers weep specializing in stealing and slaying children. In the fallen he is considered as one of Hells greatest warriors of the rebellious angels. He is listed as one of Satan’s As you can remember Baal was the god that the children of Israel dealt with in the camp below Mount Sinai. God through Moses opened the ground and destroyed 1/3 or them in that day. Exodus 32:1-33This is the thing God hates, Sacrifices done before the lord uncalled for in his word. For these things bring us nothing but the rebuff of the word. Do not give up hope on those whom god placed in his kingdom for if God hated the sacrifice to Molech he surely will not commit a sacrifice unto Molech of his children. If God gives a person life through his spirit he will not remove his spirit from amongst them unless they give him no other option.
Extraordinary sacrifices are "NOT" on gods agenda. Give God what he asks, No less no more, Obey his word in completion and we as the church will be better off for it.
Why pray for things God has no intention of repenting upon? beleive that you can change the mind of God? Why ask for a blessing and you have not done the first works. Do you think God will throw pearls to swine?
Interesting is it not? and churches encourage people to do this all the time...remember the next time someone tells you to put yourhand to the TV screen and send them in a few bucks as seed money for your blessing...You dont need to beg god for anything if you have the holy ghost...first seek ye the kingdom of god and all things will be added unto you as according to your faith in christ.
That means something people.
